Great 1st book on art. Easy, great ex's.Really Like it It's more than a book on drawing; it's a book on improving spatial awareness, right-brain thinking and visual appreciation. The exercises are really cool and get me to stretch in a way I've never had to before. I haven't picked up a pencil or brush in nearly 20 years, but this book has me drawing better than I did when I was actively practicing. Again, I haven't touched another book in years, so I'm unaware of what else is out there, but I'm very happy with this book nonetheless.
![]() I was recommended to read and use this book as an exercise in developing remote viewing skills, and I must say I'm glad I bought it. Why others who've bought it and don't follow through with it behooves me. If you enjoy drawing, you should make this book part of your library.and USE IT. 'The' learn to draw book Unlike other books that will let you learn to draw this or that, this book teaches the half dozen skills needed to be able to draw anything and do it very well. The exercises in this book and practice will let anyone, ANYONE, who wants to, learn to draw. How do I know? I have taught, quite literally, thousands of people to draw using the lessons in this book. The New Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain Pdf DownloadIn learning to draw with is book, talent, while convenient, is not necessary, practice and perseverance is! You will need a ream of copier paper, an ordinary number 2 pencil and stick to it. My students got great results in about a month of doing the exercises every day for an hour or so. One of the most intriguing findings of the Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain five-day workshop is that people can actually achieve those high level drawing skills in that 40-hour time period. Older edition worth a look My watercolor teacher suggested this book, and pointed out that the old edition is easier to use than the newer one currently at stores. I started using it and really found it interesting, and am already seeing improvement in my drawing skills. Last week I checked out the latest ed. At the store and I could see my teacher's point: too much stuff added in, as if to accommodate shrinking attention spans. Drawing is an age-old skill, and the old instruction is still entirely valid. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain This book is a fantastic guide to learning how to draw by 'unlearning' how we perceive light, shadow and shapes. I first heard of this book in 1984, and I wish I had purchased it then. I highly recommend this book to any illustrating enthusiast who wishes to take drawing seriously. It does not matter what your age is or your illustrating skills are, even if they are poor. Betty Edwards' book is full of illustrations of students and how they progressed from lacking in skill, to being capable of capturing the beauty of the human physique on paper.
